BODYWORK
Bodywork for Women & Mothers of Ballarat
Our myotherapy and remedial massage treatments are personalised to fulfil your individual requirements, offering an exceptional hands-on healthcare experience. Choose from the following options to support you through each stage of your fertility journey.
Pregnancy
All pregnancy treatments have a strong emphasis on relaxation while addressing muscular tension, supporting the physical changes within the body. Pregnancy massage is a safe and effective treatment for mothers from conception through to birth. During the first trimester, massages can be done while lying flat on the table. Beyond the first trimester, treatment is most effective and comfortable in a supported side-lying position.

Labour & Birth Preparation
Induction massage is a gentle and non-invasive way to prepare your mind and body for labour and birth. Labour is driven by a complex cocktail of hormones. A massage in the later stages of your pregnancy can enhance this process and pave the way for a smooth transition into labour.
Should you be overdue or feeling uneasy about the potential of a medical induction, a deeply relaxing massage can help you to overcome tension and anxiety. This creates a positive mindset and lowers stress hormones.
At Untangled Living we bring together a range of techniques to encourage your body and baby to move into the next stage of labour. We work in collaboration with the osteotherapist to achieve structural balance, taking your body’s function to the next level in preparation for birth.
Induction massage can be an essential part of your birth preparation. It addresses issues that can prevent your baby from getting into the optimal position for birth. As your body releases muscle tension, it creates space for your baby to move down into your pelvis, rotate or move from breech, posterior, or other less optimal positions for birth.

Myotherapy
Myotherapy for specific injuries and conditions including; lower back pain, neck pain, sports injuries, jaw pain & TMJ dysfunction, headaches & migraines.
Myotherapy is a gentle form of healthcare that utilises a variety of hands-on techniques to diagnose and treat structural and biomechanical issues in the body. With a holistic approach, we consider the whole person and not just the symptoms.
Working with the body and its self-healing mechanism, we treat muscles, joints, fascia, ligaments and tendons to address any strains, pain and mobility concerns.
This treatment can include a series of techniques including, gentle joint mobilisation, soft tissue massage, trigger point therapy, cupping, dry needling as well as stretching.
Abdominal Scar Release Massage
The abdominal scar release technique is specifically designed to help women who have birthed via c-section, experienced a hysterectomy and other female surgeries (organ removals, keyhole surgery, cancers).
In an abdominal scar release session, we assess and treat adhesion around the scar, the abdominal wall, the diaphragm, and the ribs. We also assess and treat any associated areas, such as back, hips and neck.
Abdominal scars can contribute to your back pain, continence issues, or general scar discomfort. If your scar feels numb, causes you pain or tingling, or appears “stuck” this treatment is for you!
Sessions include a thorough screening and a photo will be taken at the start and end of your treatment to show you the progress side by side.
Reproductive Health
Fertility lymphatic massage is a specialised therapeutic technique designed to support reproductive health and enhance fertility. This form of massage focuses on stimulating the lymphatic system, which plays a crucial role in detoxification and maintaining a healthy immune system. By promoting the efficient movement of lymphatic fluid, fertility lymphatic massage can help create a more favourable environment for conception.
* Reproductive Health Massage is contraindicated during your first post embryo transfer and during pregnancy.
